Like Water features flutist Anne Drummond's elegant, contemplative and uplifting jazz compositions, played with a Brazilian rhythm section and strings. Drummond grooves with
extraordinary support from Xavier Davis (piano), Klaus Mueller (piano), Paul Meyers (guitar), Nilson Matta (bass), Duduka da Fonseca (drums), Tom Chiu (violin) and Dave Eggar (cello). Like Water is Drummond's debut as soloist and band leader.
Drummond has previously been featured on numerous high profile jazz recordings, including albums with multiple-Grammy-nominee pianist Kenny Barron's Canta Brasil (Sunnyside), Images (Universal France) and a score for the film Another Harvest
Moon; bassist Avishai Cohen's Home on Razdaz Records; and vibraphonist Stefon Harris's Grammy-nominated Grand Unification Theory (Blue Note), Evolution (Blue Note), African Tarantella'Dances with Duke (Blue Note), and his latest, Urbanus(Concord, August 2009).
